ALAIN ANDRE JOSEPH DELAQUIS 1943 - 2004 On March 11, 2004, Alain Delaquis, beloved husband of Nancy (Kelly), father of Paul, Anne-Marie (Michel Gzebowski), Lisa-Marie (David Brunet) and Patrick (Jess Sookermany) and loving grandfather of Daniel J. Delaquis, Daniel J. Lavallee, Liam M. Gzebowski and Annika M. Gzebowski, passed away at his home in Carman, MB surrounded by his family. Alain was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Marie Louise Delaquis; and by three brothers, Denis, Bruno and Andre. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law James E. Kelly and his mother-in-law Margaret J. Kelly. Alain is survived by his brothers and sisters, Lucien (Denise) Delaquis, Marguerite (David) Martin, Fernand (Lorna) Delaquis, Romeo (Cecile) Delaquis, Bertrand (Elizabeth) Delaquis, Norbert (Lucille) Delaquis, Aime (Shirley) Delaquis, Jacqueline (Roger) Philippot, Annette (Gerald) Fouasse; and by his two sisters-in-law, Therese (Andre) Delaquis and Georgette (Bruno) Delaquis. He leaves to mourn his brothers-in-law, Jim (Sharron) Kelly, and Spencer (Sheligh) Kelly; and his sisters-in-law, Pat (Conrad) Delorme, Geri (Jim) Nichols, Joanne (Eldon) Freund, Wendy (Harvey) Robertson and Donna Peters (Phil). Alain also leaves to mourn his aunt Fernande, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Alain was born in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, MB on May 15, 1943. He spent most of his adult life working as a lab technician in the aircraft industry. Alain loved the outdoors, enjoying various hobbies such as canoeing, fishing, photography, gardening and many outdoor sports. Alain was devoted to his family and worked very hard throughout his life to provide them with the opportunities that would better their lives. He dearly loved his grandchildren and had a constant interest in all that they did. He will be greatly missed. Alain faced this struggle against cancer with remarkable courage and fortitude. The funeral mass will be held on March 15 at the parish church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Carman at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Ed Kosa O.M.I. officiating. Interment to follow at the Carman Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
