Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER BENZIK Peacefully, on Monday, March 15, 2004, Peter was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was predeceased by his wife Cecilia (March 14, 1991) his parents, Tanas and Polly; his siblings, Mike, John, Mae and Anne. He is survived by his one remaining sister Olivia Maiorana (Andy), as well as numerous extended family members. Peter was born in Brokenhead, MB on May 7, 1905. Peter worked at various jobs in his younger years, including logging and cooking at camps, and cutting pulp. He married Cecilia (nee Shumilak) in 1935 and they spent many years farming in the Brokenhead area. They moved to Beausejour in 1972 and enjoyed many retirement years together. He spent his remaining years in Armstrong Manor and then later in East Gate Lodge. The family wishes to thank the Home Care Staff, the Health Care Team and Dr. Zeiler for their excellent care and support. There will be viewing on Friday, March 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Kilmartin and Pastor Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day".
