HELEN DOROTHY JOHNSTON (nee Erickson) Born April 23, 1927 Peacefully on March 15, 2004, Mom passed away at the Health Sciences Centre after suffering a recent stroke. Mom is survived by her children, Duane (Jeanette), Garth (Francie), Lynne (Ray), Geoff (Lina), Kristine (Rob) and Lyle. Nanna is also survived and sadly missed by all her grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her sister Irene Larson of Lac Du Bonnet as well as her neice Mavis Joszi of Lac Du Bonnet and nephews, Darryl Larson of Winnipeg and Gerry and Jim Larson of B.C. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Naima Erickson as well as sisters, Dagni and Dagmar and nephew Ken. Mom was born and raised in the Lac Du Bonnet area and received her education there. Mom enjoyed playing bingo and loved to entertain her family on special occasions. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre for their kind and compassionate care of Mom over the last three years. As well, we thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre (GD4) for their care of Mom in her last few days. According to Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moms memory to either the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
