IRENE CHUBATY Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Holy Family Nursing Home, Irene Chubaty, beloved wife of the late George Chubaty. Irene was born on October 29, 1913 in Western Ukraine. She came to Canada in 1950. She received her Commerce Degree in Ukraine and obtained her accounting diploma in Canada. Irene was employed as the Senior Accountant and Office Manager at Kaplans Manufacturing for over 20 years, retiring in 1979. Irene was a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral and enjoyed travel, theatre, music, attending the symphony and spending time at Grand Beach. Above all else, Irene loved the company of her two sons and her grandchildren. Left to cherish Irenes memory are her two sons, Wally Chubaty (Tina Filbey) and her son James, Dr. Roman Chubaty (Irene) and grandchildren, Greg and Lara. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1994; three brothers and two sisters. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18 (tonight) at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Chubaty, James Filbey, George Chuchman, Andrew Chuchman, Lubomyr Shulakewych and Chrys Iwanchuk. The family expresses their sincere thanks to Dr. T. Babick; Sisters, nurses and staff of St. Pauls Ward of Holy Family Nursing Home for the kindness, compassion and care. Flowers are gratefully declined.
