NICHOLAS HNIDAN With sorrow we announce the passing of Nicholas into eternity on March 16, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Nicholas was born in Winnipeg on September 20, 1923. He attended St. Nicholas School and Success Business College and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. His employment years were spent with Canada Safeway, from which he retired in 1988. Curling was one of his favourite sports and he enjoyed watching baseball and hockey. Nicholas also loved gardening and fishing. He was a very dedicated, caring and kind person, putting the needs of others before his own, always there when needed. Nicholas was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Caroline; brothers, Joseph and Michael. He is survived by his wife Helen; stepsons, Russell and Darcy; grandchildren; sister Helen Stasynec, husband John; niece Carol Ann (Nasser), Kadri and their children; Candice Stasynec of Edmonton; numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Basilian Father officiating. Interment Holy Family Cemetery.
