She will be forever cherished by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Harris. She was the much loved mother to children, Colleen (Brian), Randy (Karen), Eleanor (Harry), Sylvia (Cliff), Cindy (Henry), Gwen (Bill), Kathy (Doug), Reg (Marg), Monica, Karen (Jack). She was also very much devoted to and loved by her 24 grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Menzo and Cynthia Dornbush and her older brother Bob. Also mourning her passing are her siblings, Jewel Klok, Eugene Dornbush (Hazel), Lois Reenders (George), Carolyn Breedveld (Tom), Les Dornbush (Marj), Muriel Zandstra (Dave) and Gordon Dornbush (Mina). Evelyn was born February 25, 1932 in Atwood Michigan, but spent the majority of her life in Canada. She worked in numerous places and for numerous people, but the work she did best was make a loving home for her family. She was very organized, and remembered birthdays of all family, extended family, and close friends. She and John loved to travel, and took several trips annually to locations in Canada and United States to visit family and close friends. Evelyn also gave of her time volunteering in the church library and on other church committees, and also with Hope Centre. Evelyn will be sorely missed by her family, extended family, and multitude of friends. Comfort is taken in the knowledge that she has gone to be with her Lord. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Ave. A private family interment will take place prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyns memory to the library of Covenant Christian Reformed Church.
