MARY FECYK (SMOOK) Peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2004, Baba passed away at the age of 90 years at the Kin Place Nursing Home in Oakbank, MB. Baba was born in Cowan, MB on May 9, 1913 to Peter and Anna Smook. Mary had two sisters, Emily and Nettie. She is survived by her son John Karr (Stella) granddaughter Victoria Karr (son Joshua) granddaughter Shirley Lefurgey (Roy) grandsons, Laurence, Leonard (Val) Randy and Rodney (Mona) Pshebnicki; great-grandchildren, Cara Bisiak (Chris), Mike Bisiak (Allison) and great great-grandson Cale Bisiak; sister Emily Stogran and her daughter Romaine (Fred). Mary was predeceased by first husband Dmytro Kostiuk; second husband Mike Fecyk; daughter Jean Pshebnicki; son Walter Kostiuk; and sister Nettie Phair. Baba worked for the C.N.R. for 25 years and retired on April 21, 1978. Babas last few years were spent at Kin Place nursing home in Oakbank, MB. Special thanks are directed to the staff and nurses for their kindness and exceptional care. Pallbearers are Laurence, Leonard, Randy and Rodney Pshebnicki, Mike and Cara Bisiak. Rest in Peace Baba, We Love you Evening prayers will be held from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services Ltd. in Swan River, MB on Friday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Cowan Cemetery, Cowan, MB on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Rainerio Sarce officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Marys memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Arrangements are entrusted to Jim Webster of Swan Valley Funeral Services Ltd. 363 Kelsey Trail (Hwy 10 North) Swan River, Manitoba. 734-5775.
