Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGILBERT ARTHUR ROSIE March l8, 2004, Gilbert Arthur Rosie passed away peacefully and joined his wife and best friend Claire who predeceased him on June 28, 2000. He will be sadly missed by his only daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Mel Trethart; his granddaughter Charla Trethart and granddaughter Larissa Bissett, husband Andrew; and great-grandchildren, William and Autumn; and his nephew Gordon Coutts of Winnipeg, wife Mavis and family. Gil was born on November 26, 1910 in Selkirk, MB. Except for his service in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War, Gil worked as a Salesman at Eatons downtown store. He was an active long term member of the EK Lions Club and served in executive positions with the club including two terms as President. He was extremely proud of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award he received from the Lions International. His passions included the Victoria Beach cottage, golf, baseball, The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, cards and Big Band Music. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Friends are invited to a reception at Thomsons following the service.
