KATHERINE (KAY) JIJIAN (nee PHILIPIEW) On Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at The Lady Minto Hospital on Saltspring Island, BC. Aged 87 years. Memorial reception will be held on March 27 at Meadowbrook, BC. Cremation has taken place. Kay was born in Rama, SK. Her parents came to Canada in 1905 from the Ukraine. A feisty and generous soul, Kay lived a full life surrounded and supported by a large and loving family. She was a loving wife and mother, a thoughtful friend and the best Baba in the world. She is survived by her son Larry (Linda) daughter Lynda; grandchildren, Corey (Nikki) Michael (Shannon) Leanne (Bob) and Kelly (Chris) three great grandchildren, Brendon, Kate, and Dawson; sister Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Chris Jijian in 1998; her father George in 1939; her mother Dolly in 1958; brothers, Nick, Matt, Bill and John; sisters, Ann, and Eunice; twin sister Mabel and son-in-law Bard.
