SHIRLEY MAE PEATFIELD (nee COX) May 17, 1929 - March 15, 2004 Peacefully, on March 15, 2004 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, Shirley Peatfield, our cherished wife and mother, passed away. Shirley was predeceased by her mother Alice; father William; sister Audrey; and brothers, Ken and Eric. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her husband of 48 years, Al; sons, James (Jim) and William (Bill) sister Joyce Douglas; brothers, Edgar (Kay) Cox and Ivor (Judy) Cox; sister-in-law Doris Cox; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and John Morton; also numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley, a devoted wife, mother and friend, had worked for the Hudson Bay Company, in the Bakery and Hosiery departments. In 1955, she met and married Al, and had been a proud homemaker ever since. Shirleys interests included golf, curling, crafts and wedding cake decorating. Her greatest joy was spending holidays and weekends at the family cottage at Ottermere, ON. She also loved the short trips to Grand Forks, ND. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Kevin Grace and all the wonderful staff at the Park Manor Personal Care Home for the loving care extended to Shirley, over the past three years. At Shirleys request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1L7. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
