KIMIO HAROLD SHIMANE Suddenly on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Grace General Hospital, surrounded by close family, Kimio Harold Shimane passed away peacefully. He was born in Steveston, BC on March 23, 1924. Harold was predeceased by his wife Chiyo in 1977, mother Kyo and father Toranosuke, brother Taro and sister Miyoko. He will be missed by his two daughters, Kathie and Elaine (Bill) two sons, Michael and Wayne; grandson Justin; family dog Ruby. Harold is survived by his older brother Jack and many nieces and nephews all across Canada. He will be sorely missed by many friends and family. Harold was a noted carpenter with the Suzuki Brothers Construction for many years. He was an active member of the Manitoba Buddhist Church serving as treasurer for 16 years. He was one of the founding members of the Manitoba Judo Club and continued to instruct for several years. He will always be remembered for his generous nature and spirit, lending a hand to many who crossed his path in life. Many thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital and particular to Dr. E. Smith and Leslie of the Emergency unit. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 at the Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Ave. with Sensei Fredrich Ulrich officiating.
