Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJENNY STADNICK Peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the age of 86, Jenny passed away at the Fred Douglas Lodge. She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved only child, son Jim, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jenny was the last survivor of her family. She was predeceased by her only sibling, stepbrother George Chalus. Jenny was born in Lachine, QC on July 7, 1917. She met her husband Peter in 1939 and married in 1941. After the birth of their son Jim in 1946 Jenny and Peter owned and operated a full service corner grocery in Lachine. Jennys stepfather Michael was nanny, allowing her to work fulltime. After moving to Winnipeg in 1955 Jenny took a hiatus from work to raise her son and care for her stepfather. Later in life she returned to work as a clerk at the Co-op pharmacy in East Kildonan where she made many friends. She enjoyed music, family, gabbing on the phone and above all, children. The sight of a child would bring a radiant smile and an outpouring of love. In their final years, Jenny and Peter resided at Fred Douglas Lodge where, in 2001, they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Jenny was a fun, intelligent, chic, beautiful, kind, and compassionate woman. A woman in full. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers on the Evergreen unit at the Fred Douglas Lodge for their unfailing help, support and love. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m., at the Voyage Funeral home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Internment to follow in the family plot at Ridgeland Cemetery, Sundown, MB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fred Douglas Foundation, 1275 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2X 0B8. Arrangements in care of VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
