UNA MARIA STEPHENSON Una Maria Stephenson passed away peacefully on March 17, 2004. She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Louis Stephenson and together they had four loving daughters, Carol, Marcia, Susan, and Nancy, and ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Melissa, Johanna, Charlie, Stefan, Signe, Eric, Lara, and Anya. Maria will also be missed by her cousin Charlene and Ralph. Born the daughter of Tilly Anna Sigurdson and Hannes Peturson in Winnipeg, MB, Una Maria was proud of her Viking heritage. She received her B.Sc. at the University of Manitoba and was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and the University Womens Club. She was a resident of West Vancouver for 45 years and a dedicated lover of nature who enjoyed walking the sea wall. Marias elegance, strength and courage reflected her passion in life. She found pleasure in travel, dancing, practicing Tai Chi and made many lifelong friends playing bridge. A special thanks to Dr. Phillips, Kim, the pharmacists at Safeway, and the dedicated doctors and nurses at VGH. A celebration of Marias life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 24 at the North Shore Unitarian Church, 370 Mathers Ave. West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer research. Mom was deeply loved by Frankie and Lady. We Love You Mom and Amma! XOXO
