PETER (VLASTIMIL) SURA It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Sura on Friday, March 12, 2004 at the age of 78. Peter was born on April 28, 1925. At the age of 25, he left his homeland of Czechoslovakia and came to Canada in search of a better life. In 1954, Peter married Audrey and became "Dad" to her daughter Marion. In 1956, they welcomed their daughter Beverley to their family. Peter later married Mabel Purdy and together they made their home in Lac du Bonnet. Dad was predeceased by his daughter Bev, wife Mabel and grandson John Gibbs. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter Marion (Jack) Barton, Arlene (John) Gibbs, Randy (Maureen) Purdy, Bob (Susan) Purdy and Johns wife Angela; grandchildren, Carol (Doug), Donna (Chris), Linda (Gary), Alan (Monique), Ryan, Sean, Grace, Christine, Zach and many great-grandchildren. The things that made Dad happy were his family and the beauty found in nature. Each morning Dad took pleasure in walking around his home to take in the splendour of the day and to meditate with the birds. He was very proud of his garden and always shared his bounty. He also looked forward to fishing with his fishin buddy Jack and he promised to send a few fish Jacks way after he was gone. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Judy and Glen Romanow who over the years, provided friendship, support and Dads 8:00 telephone call every night. We would also like to extend our thanks to the wonderful staff at the Beausejour Hospital for their gentle care, compassion and kindness given to Dad. At Dads request, no service will be held.
