BRIAN JAMES WILKEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian James Wilken on March 16, 2004 at the age of 23 in Surrey, BC. He is survived by girlfriend Karla Moody; mother Dorothy; brothers, Kyle and Wade; sister-in-law Jennifer; nephews, Hayden and Carter; and extended family in Canada, Scotland and England. Brian was predeceased by his father Wilfred and by his close friend John Sawatsky. Brian was born in Lynn Lake, MB but was raised in Pinawa, MB. Born with Spina Bifida, Brian faced many challenges. With his infectious smile and kind heart, Brian befriended most everyone he met. We are grateful to Brians many friends and the community of Pinawa, for their tremendous support over the years in helping Brian at every turn, to overcome the many obstacles he faced. Special thanks to the Moodys for welcoming Brian into their family and to Marg Haugen, lovingly referred to as Brians second mom, for the love and guidance she gave. Memorial service will be held in Pinawa on Sunday, March 21 in the Secondary School Auditorium, Vanier Drive, Pinawa, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Murray officiating.
