BERNIE ASHTON It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on March 19, 2004. Bernie is survived by his loving wife and best friend Arleen. He also leaves to cherish his memory children, daughters, Connie and her husband Ward Huzel (Ward was not only his son-in-law but also a dear friend), Bonnie Wiebe and son Grant Ashton; grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Chantel, Zoe, Steve, Missy, Mandy and Johnny; great-grandson Xander. He also leaves behind one sister Mickey Lielke from British Columbia and his father-in-law Charles Black. Bernie was predeceased by his son Douglas, mother Jessie, father Lloyd and brother Keith. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law Doris Black who thought the world of him. He will be missed by so many people, especially all the management, staff and all the wonderful people at Armadale Hollows where he worked for many years. You are loved and will be sadly missed and never forgotten by all who knew you. Cremation has taken place and an interment will take place at St. Vital Cemetery with graveside prayers on Wednesday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Aubrey from The Church of the Rock presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
