GORDON DEMKEY It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Demkey announces the peaceful passing of our husband, father and grandfather on March 20, 2004 at Concordia Hospital. He will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 44 years Darlene, by his two sons, Brad (Kathleen) and Wayne; by his four grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Adam and Morgan; and by his many relatives and friends. Gordon was born on August 23, 1940 in the province of Manitoba. His first love was the outdoors and during his lifetime he spent time hunting, fishing, camping or canoeing with family and friends in just about every part of Manitoba. He was an accomplished baseball player in his youth and later took up golfing, but most of all he enjoyed hosting summer barbeques or simply spending time, in his garage, with family and friends. The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and staff at Concordia Hospital for their kindness, consideration and outstanding care during his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Winnipeg Human Society or the charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Transcona Memorial United Church at 209 Yale Ave. W. on Tuesday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception in the church basement. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
