MARY REECE It is with deep sadness that the family of Mary (McIvor McColl) Reece wishes to announce that on Sunday, March 21, 2004, Mary died peacefully at her home at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Mary was predeceased by her husband David, sister Christina and her eldest son Allan. She is survived by her sister Joan; daughter Joan (Marcel) sons, Phillip and Charles; grandchildren, Trevor (Deanna), Shaun (Stephanie), Carole, Jennifer (Praveen), David and Sarah; great-granddaughter Taylor; numerous relatives overseas. Mary was born in Scotland in 1915 and spent her early years travelling between Canada and Scotland. She married David in Scotland in 1940 and immigrated to Canada in 1944 where David began his ministry with the United Church of Canada, serving charges in Ontario, Calgary and Winnipeg. Mary played an active role in supporting her husbands ministry and after his death continued to devote her life to all aspects of church work. Music was an important part of Marys life. She spent over 70 years of her life singing in various choirs. Mary worked for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and spent many years working at the Canadian Bible Society. Her love of travel and gardening was well known. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Dr. Regehr and all the caring staff at the Kildonan Personal care Centre for their love and ongoing compassion over the past few years, as well as Rev. Jim Hatherly and Rev. Marc Whitehead for their past and continued support. A celebration of Marys life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26 at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy.
