BERTHE CARRIERE (nee LAROCHE) Peacefully with her family by her side, Berthe beloved mother of Norman, passed away at the age of 71, on Saturday, March 20 at DeSalaberry Hospital in Saint-Pierre, MB. Her devoted son Norm will lovingly remember his mother Berthe. She is survived by her son Norm; her brothers and sisters, Edouard and Therese Laroche, Cecile and Marcien Bosc, Lucien and Lucille Laroche, Therese (late Leon) Hamonic, Arthur and Celine Laroche; sisters-in-law, Therese (late Louis) Laroche and Marie (Walter) Kork; a brother-in-law Lucien and Jeannette Carriere; an uncle and aunt, Roland and Mary Dube; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Berthe was predeceased by her daughter Gabrielle in 2003; her husband Fernand in 1996; her parents, Florence Bourgeois and Philias Laroche, Antoine Laroche, August and Marie Laroche, Florence Laroche, Edmond and Marguerite Laroche, Louis Laroche, Leon Hamonic, Albert Forest, Cecile Carriere, Roland Carriere and Ronald Carriere. Berthe was always surrounded with nature and animals on their family farm in Otterburne. She extended her loving care and bountiful energy to all that were blessed to know her. Her complete devotion as a mother and aunt was relentless. Berthe loved to research and collect information on her families genealogies. Norm would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the DeSalaberry Hospital, the Homecare personnel and all other caregivers for their excellent personalized attention. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26 at Saint-Viateur Roman Catholic Church in Otterburne, MB, with Fr. Marcel Carriere presiding. Service will terminate at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the DeSalaberry District Health Centre.
