McMANUS With sorrow our family announces the passing of Donald Bartley McManus on March 20, 2004, at his residence in Kelowna, BC, following a courageous struggle with cancer. Much loved and devoted husband of 59 years of Emelia McManus (nee Buchner). Dear father of Dorothy Wilson (Kerry), Bill McManus and John McManus (Tracy) and loving grandfather of Jenna, Lane and Adam. Don is survived by one sister Ruth Fauchon of North Battleford, SK. Don was born on October 21, 1922 in Griffin, SK. He spent much of his life on the prairie living in Regina, Balcarres and Winnipeg. Don served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. He worked for Greenfield Motors in Balcarres for 20 years and also worked at various Ford dealerships in Winnipeg for 20 years. In 1989, Don and Melie retired to Westbank, BC, where Don was an active member or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. A memorial mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Pat Monette at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 24 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Westbank. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family would appreciate donations to the Kelowna General Hospital, Palliative Care Program, 2268 Pandosy St., Kelowna, BC V1Y 1T2, in Donalds memory.
