ELSA SVEA BLACK (nee CARLSON) November 5, 1919 - March 21, 2004 Peacefully on March 21, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Elsa Black, beloved wife of the late Joseph Black, passed away at the age of 84 years. Elsa is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1983 and parents, Olga and Johann Erik Carlson and brothers, Eric and Carl. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Eric (Gisele Rouillard) and daughter Andrea Black-Thompson, Greg (Kathy Foster) and Jim (Kathy) and their daughters, Melanie, Heather and Amy. Elsa is survived by her sisters, Hannah Walstrom and Frida Hanson and beloved companion Casey. Elsa worked many years as an assistant cook at King George Hospital and did bookkeeping and sales at G.D. Funks and Marvels. Elsa was a creative and talented seamstress, was an avid reader and sports fan. For a while Elsa also welcomed foreign students to her home and they all adored her and her cooking. Elsa raised her sons through difficult times. She was a very strong woman and loving mother and family was very important to her. The family wishes to thank Elsas good friend Ellen Gale, the home Care staff of 1021 Court St. office and the staff at Seven Oaks hospital for your care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
