Millie was predeceased by her husband William; her brothers, John and Alec; sister Bertha; and her daughter-in-law Patricia. Millie was born in 1918 on Aberdeen Street in North Winnipeg. In the 1930s, together with her family, they moved to what is now south St. Vital to pioneer the homestead and develop a market garden family business. In 1939, Millie married her lifemate William. Together they raised their son enjoying many good times travelling across North America in their camper. She found enjoyment in the simple things in life such as eating out and socializing with friends. She took great delight in "her kids" and their achievements. In her unselfish way, she loved to help her kids in whatever way she could and never asked for anything in return, cherishing her independence to the end. Millie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Millies life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with reception and interment following.
