ANNE E. SAPIAK It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, auntie and great-aunt, Anne Elizabeth Sapiak, on March 22, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Patrick Sapiak in 1966; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Morawski; sisters, Mary and Julie; brothers, Walter and Stan. She is survived by her son Kenneth and wife Valerie; her daughter Susan Colton and husband Ron; grandchildren, Kevin, Shaun, Rachelle, Miranda and Haley; her sisters, Bertha and Rose Morawski, Angela Winiarz and husband Elmer; sister-in-law Anne Spears; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Anne was born in Winnipeg in 1916. She married the love of her life in 1942. They lived in North Kildonan, where they raised their two children. Anne was employed by Pauline Chambers for many years. She also retired from Middlechurch Home for a well-deserved rest. She took pleasure in her cottage at Grand Beach, where she enjoyed many summers with family and friends. She was very talented and took great pride in her baking. A tribute of Annes life will be read by one of her special nieces Margie Winiarz. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs Residence, where Anne resided for the last six years. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 25 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe Avenue and Brazier Street with Rev. Fr. Jorge Villegas, O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Sapiak, Shaun Sapiak, Tom Morris, Gerald Winiarz, Jack Baturin and Dave Stuve. At the familys request, flowers are gratefully declined and donation may be made in Annes memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Anne was a member of the third order of St. Francis. Lord, Jesus make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our families were neighbours in the 60's and 70's in Winnipeg. I was in the same class with daughter Susan Sapiak for several years. Sad to hear of the family's loss. A very decent mother and family. - Posted by: D'Arcy Surrette (Schoolmate and Neighbour to Daughter Susan Sapiak) on: Jan 10, 2014
