Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS SUMMERVILLE BROWN November 17, 1925 - March 23, 2004 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 78 years. Tom was born in Headingley and he resided at Fred Douglas Lodge for the past four years until his passing. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth; his father Thomas; mother Minlou Marie; sisters, Evelyn, Edith, Gertrude and Dora. He will be sadly missed by his six children, Rita (Ken), Robert (Doreen), Rickie (Marge), Tom Jr. (Darlene), Tim (Val), and Kelly (Larissa) all of Winnipeg. He also leaves in his passing 16 grandchildren, Scott, Trevor, Dana, Janelle, Corrin, Jenna-Rae, Amber, Waylon, Ricky, Wendel, Wariner, Johnathan, Emerald, Wyler, Wyatt, Thomas; two great-grandsons, Curtis and Tayler Stanley and Chuckie, and one great-granddaughter Mairi; brothers and sisters, David (Gen), Margaret, Dorothy (Alvin), John and Norma (Roy), as well as extended family. He enlisted in the Canadian Army, February 25, 1944, serving in Canada, Britain and North West Europe. He received honourable discharge June 1, 1946, receiving medals and decorations such as 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. Upon returning, he went to work at the gold mine in Balmertown, ON. Later, he worked construction on the Trans Canada Highway near Kenora, ON. After this he moved the family to Winnipeg where he worked at the foundry until retirement and worked for the Corp. of Commissioners until 1994. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and relatives. He also enjoyed going to the race track and watching his boys drag race. We will love you forever. Forever and for always our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother youll be. Youll live on forever in our memories. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre unit GD-4 for their care. Donations may be made in dads memory to Kidney Foundation of Canada, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2K8. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 26, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 27, at 10:00 a.m. also at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
