He will be sadly missed and cherished by his loving wife Donna; sons, Brent (Cathy), Allan; and grandsons, Justin, Kyle; and his best friend Sassy. Al will be forever in the hearts of his siblings, mother Lena; sisters, Kathy (Henry), Marie (Ernie), Carol (Richard), and Marlene; brothers, John (Janet), Ken (Leona), Larry (Leona), and Walter (Marilyn) also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His father Abe; and infant brothers, Henry and Benjamin predeceased Al. Al was born in Steinbach, married Donna in 1967 and they resided mainly in the Winnipeg area. He spent most of his career as a long distance truck driver where his character earned him respect and created many lifelong friendships. Al had a passion for life, an easy going attitude and remarkable sense of humour that touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Al loved to spend time at the lake camping with family and friends and teaching his grandsons how to fish. If there were someone that needed a hand, Al would always be there. The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends for their prayers and support. We would also like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the special care they gave Al. Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Als memory to the Manitoba Lung Association.
