LAWRENCE RICHMOND Lawrence "Larry" Richmond of Lethbridge, AB passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the age of 52 years. Larry will be missed and remembered with love by his children, Heather, Erin and Andrew; his lifelong companion Joy; his family in Manitoba, Helen Peterson, David (Darlene) Peterson, Leonard (Brenda) Peterson, and Joan (Clarence Grandbois) Peterson; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Ryan, Eric, Mark and Colleen. He will be missed by many friends and relatives. Larry was predeceased by his mother Eileen Richmond in April 2003, his father Arnold in January 1979, and father-in-law Gotthard Peterson in August 2002. Larry was born on January 1, 1952 in Winnipeg, MB and grew up on a farm near Cypress River, MB. He worked for the city of Winnipeg, and married Joy Peterson in 1974. They decided to go on an adventure to Lethbridge in 1977, where they settled and raised their family. In Lethbridge Larry trained as an electrician, eventually achieving his journeyman status and was a long term employee of King Electric. Larry loved the family pets, despite what the nicknames he chose may have implied. He also loved sports, fishing and camping. He coached hockey, and was involved with the Lethbridge Soccer Association for many years. He co-coached the 83 Chargers girls soccer team and always felt very honoured to be a part of the girls lives. Larry loved seeing new places with his family, and the recent trips to Australia were a highlight for him. Larrys unique sense of humour, including his quirky running commentaries on life, will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. A memorial service was held in Lethbridge on March 20. A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glencoe Cemetery in Cypress River. A gathering to share memories and to celebrated Lawrences life will be held following the service. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice. Jamieson Funeral Service of Glenboro, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
