Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY SENKIW (nee POPOWICH) Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, Mary Senkiw, aged 93 years, passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1996; her daughter Jane in 1990; son Maurice in 1988; brothers, Bill, Alex, Mike, Norman and Paul; sister Pauline; brother-in-law Tony and sisters-in-law, Doris, Margery and Marie. Mary leaves to mourn, her sisters, Eva Beach (Dave) and Rose Popowich; brothers, Steve (Gwen), George (Marian) and Stan Popowich of Fernie, BC; sisters-in-law, Anne and Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was born September 26, 1910 on the family farm at Oak Hammock, MB, the eldest of a family of 12. She cared for her siblings and worked on the family farm until her marriage in 1940, and continued farming along side her husband until his passing. She will be remembered as a hard working person, enjoying her flower and vegetable gardens as well as her indoor plants. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery Special thanks to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their care and compassion, especially the nurses and caregivers at the St. Francis Unit, where Mary lived since November 2002. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main St. with Rev. Fr. C. Zubritsky officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Marys memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
