Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMORRIS JOHN EDKINS After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris John Edkins, of Lac du Bonnet, MB on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the age of 65 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Betty; daughter Margie and husband Troy Lycan and beloved granddaughters, Kesslyn and Kinnon; daughter Tracy and husband David Fahey of Vancouver; mother Margaret Edkins; brothers, Don (Anne) and Doug (Bonnie) and 22 dearly loved nieces and nephews. Morris grew up in Clearwater, MB where he began his avid love of sports. Betty and Morris were married in 1966. Morris working career began when he joined the Air Force, from there he went on to work for Otis Elevators in Winnipeg. His next venture took him to Deloraine and Roblin as manager for Gordon Hotels. His career then went off in a different direction when he joined Manitoba Hydro and consequently moved to Grand Rapids, Gillam and Great Falls. Morris retired from Manitoba Hydro in 1997 to Lac du Bonnet, MB. His love for ball, golf and curling stayed with him throughout his life, allowing him and Betty to develop wonderful and lasting friendships throughout their travels. Morris was always the life of the party and will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, papa, uncle and friend. Morris was predeceased by his beloved father Jack Edkins and sister Marlene Bergsgaurd. A celebration of Morris life will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m. at the Lac du Bonnet Legion, Lac du Bonnet, MB as well as on Monday, March 29 at 12:00 p.m. at the Clearwater United Church, Clearwater, MB with interment of cremains to follow.
