Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOIS SOPHIA GREEN Mrs. Lois Sophia Green of Blackfalds, AB, passed away quietly in her sleep following a brief illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Lois was born on August 4, 1919 at Plumas, MB. She was a very giving and kind hearted lady who devoted her life to helping others. Lois lovingly dedicated her life to doing volunteer work in the local community and especially within her church. Lois had a great faith and commitment to her God and to her church. She was a proud and loyal member of the Blackfalds United Church all her life. Lois was an active member of the Ladies Aide, the Church Choir and she also taught and loved Sunday School. Although Lois had no children of her own, she loved them dearly and she would treat the little ones in the trailer park where she lived to ice cream cones. Lois also sponsored the local children so they could attend K.E.C. (Kasota East Camp) and had a sponsored child through the World Vision Canada Program. Her generosity and goodness were very special gifts and Lois will be forever remembered for all her many acts of love and kindness toward her fellow man. Lois leaves to mourn her loss, her brother, Tom (Jean) Didmon of Victoria, BC; her sister, Iris (Fred) of Burlington, ON; and a special niece, Verle, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Lois was predeceased by her parents and a sister. A Memorial Service will be held at the Blackfalds United Church, 4707 Broadway Ave., Blackfalds, AB on Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Ray Goodship officiating. Interment was held at the Blackfalds Cemetery, Blackfalds, AB. If desired, Memorial Donations made be made directly to the Blackfalds United Church, Box 190, Blackfalds, AB, T0M 0J0 or to Camp Kasota East, Sylvan Lake, AB or to a Charity of the donors choice.
