Donald was born in Port Arthur, ON on February 8, 1939. He was predeceased by his father at the age of six and by his mother when he was eight years old. His childhood upbringing became quite unsettled but he continued to keep a strong family connection wherever he resided. A very special friend in his life was always, Mrs. Sybil Johnson whom he loved dearly and remembered often. He lived briefly with his grandparents until their passing. Grandpa Kinner had a shoemaker shop and his grandmother cooked traditional Finnish food. Don was always proud of his familys Finnish heritage and he kept close ties with his sister and brothers. Donald married in 1967 to Gloria and enjoyed his life with his children. He travelled east and west many times to visit relatives.
