JULIAN ELTON ROBINSON Peacefully, on Wednesday, March 24, Julian Elton Robinson passed away attended by his wife, grandson and many friends. He is survived by Yvonne (Gloria), his wife of fifty years, his daughter, Margaret-Ann, his grandsons, Darcy and Aaron; his sister Pansy; and brothers, Warren and Maurice. Julian was born in Jamaica in 1925, attended Wolmers Boys School and went on to serve in the RAF during the Second World War. He came to Winnipeg with his wife in the 1950s, putting down roots and starting a family. His first job was with the CPR after which he moved on to a distinguished career in management at the Health Sciences Centre. Julian was also very active in community service and philanthropy. He was a founding member of Cambrian Credit Union and served as a member of the Consular Corps as Honorary Vice Consul for Jamaica. He received the Badge of Honour for Meritorious Service from the government of Jamaica. His favourite pastimes included playing the piano, telling stories, listening to FM 100.7 and above all, gardening. His neighbours said, "Were comforted nevertheless knowing hes now with God surrounded by the most beautiful flowers in paradise." Julian had countless friends, colleagues and acquaintances who held him in the highest esteem and whose fond memories of him are endless. The family thanks the good staff at St. Boniface Hospital, ward 4E, especially Susan (Julians favourite nurse) and Dr. Montgomery for their dedication. Heartfelt thanks also to Connie and Daphney and the companions from Gentle Care. They are truly angels. A service for Julian will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1.
