Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMANUEL FINKLEMAN August 26, 1919 - March 26, 2004 Peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones Manuel passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Millie; his children, James (Carol), Glen, Pepper (Vanessa), Chip (Nicole), Payton, Nikki (Egon) Sydney; sisters, Dorothy Feldman, Gertrude (Tootsie) (Nate) Fingold; sisters-in-law, Ruth Finkleman, Annette Kaell and Anna Thater. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends. Manuel was born on August 26, 1919 in Prince Albert, SK. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Selkirk, MB, before eventually settling in Winnipeg. As a young man, Manny pursued many interests. For years he was involved with gymnastics on a professional level and performed with a popular group known as the "Gay Gauchos". They performed many vaudeville acts throughout Manitoba and the United States. Manny was a born athlete who excelled in athleticism, particularly in the form of entertainment. In 1940 he married Jean Perkins and fathered two sons. During this time, Manny balanced his life between family and a career as a professional adagio dancer. Soon thereafter, Hollywood came calling, but Mannys business pursuits kept him in Winnipeg. As fate would have it, it was Mannys destiny to remain in Winnipeg and eventually follow in his fathers footsteps as the owner and operator of Elmans Food Products. Through his hard work and dedication, Elmans Food Products has grown to the successful business that it is today. Manny enjoyed many wonderful years with the love of his life, Millie. Together they enjoyed nature, travel and much laughter. He thoroughly enjoyed and revelled in get-togethers with family and friends, to enjoy good food, music and conversation. Family, was the centre of his life. He was a proud father, loving husband and an inspiration to many. He will be lovingly remembered as a generous, kindhearted and selfless soul. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Kerr for his graciousness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research. Rabbi Weizman said it best, "the world needs many Mannys." We will love and keep you in our hearts, forever.
