TATJANA SAWCZENKO On Friday, March 26, 2004, after a brief illness at the age of 82, the Lord took Tatjana Sawczenko home. Tatjana was born in Ukraine and came to Canada in 1951, to join her husband Alexander in Bissett, MB. In 1957 they moved to Winnipeg where she began working at the Health Sciences Centre, where she worked for over 25 years. She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, one son, Very Rev. Mykola and his wife Betty; daughter Helen and husband Helmut Osswald; grandchildren, Tanya Landiak (Jim), Gregory Sawchenko (Chantal), Adam and Matthew Osswald; great-grandchildren, Danika and Nikolas Landiak, Zachary and Kayla Sawchenko; numerous friends and relatives. Predeceased by husband Alexander, parents, Josef and Anastasia Migachova. Prayers will be served 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 29 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., with the Very Rev. Fr. Mykola Sawchenko officiating. Funeral rite will be served Tuesday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave., with Rev. Fr. Jaroslaw Buciora officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave., or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
