MARIA MANTLER (nee Duck) It is with great sadness we the family of, Maria Mantler announce her passing on March 27, 2004. Maria was born in Odessa, Russia in 1911. In 1939 she married Peter Mantler and together they had two children. In 1948 they immigrated to Canada making their first home in Gretna, MB where they lived for a few years. Mother enjoyed her family and her garden. Later they moved to Winnipeg where Mom and Dad both worked at the University of Manitoba. Maria was predeceased by her parents at an early age, and in 1997 by her Peter to whom she was married for 58 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Nick, her daughter Helen and son-in-law Harvey Buckmaster. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., with visitation at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Garry Memorial Park.
