Mom was born March 27, 1905 in Einlage, Southern Russia, the third child of Isaak and Anna (Heinrichs) Lehn. She came to Canada as a young woman of 18 and settled in Rosthern, SK. Here she worked for "Der Bote". A year later she moved to Hanley, SK to be with the rest of her family. On June 28, 1930 she married our dad, Henry Plenert. A short time later they moved to Rabbit Lake to homestead, but Mom was homesick so they moved back to Hanley a few years later. In November of 1947 they moved to Winnipeg. She loved to cook and bake for her family and she loved gardening. After the children left home, she did a lot of crocheting making doilies and afghans for all her family. In 1987, our dad passed away, they had been married for 56 and one half years. She lived in the family home until she was no longer able to look after herself. She lived at Oakview Place for one year and then moved to Bethania where she lived out her remaining years. Thanks to the staff at Bethania for the care you gave our mother. We appreciate all of you. Mom is survived by her daughters, Alice and John Wiens, Melita and Donald Higgins, Helen and Allan Pickering; and son Ted Plenert; grandchildren, Linda and Mike Arnaud, Marilyn and Glenn Friesen, Donald and Lynnette Wiens, Dorothy and Donald Tkachyk, John and Jennifer Wiens, Cathey and Bill Christensen, Peter and Kim Higgins, Donna Pickering, Susan and Dean Galloway; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Tyler Wiens, Lauren, Haley and Justina Wiens, Ryan and Carley Tkachyk, Carter and Max Wiens, Bradley Christensen, Sheldon and Matthew Higgins and Jasper Galloway; her brother Waldemar Lehn; sister-in-law Erna Lehn and many nieces and nephews.
