EVA GUREVICH Eva Gurevich passed away in her 95th year. She is survived by her brother Jack and his wife Bess and was predeceased by her sister Ann Rosenthal. Her memory is cherished by her nieces and nephews, their children and their childrens children. To all she was "Aunty" or "Aunty Aunty" as her great-great-niece Rachel fondly called her. Her family remained most important to her, the birth of each new baby continued to give her a sense of great joy. Eva was a bookkeeper for Buchwald Asper for many years. Following retirement she worked parttime for other legal firms until well into her 80s. During the 1980s and early 1990s, she served as voluntary bookkeeper to the Winnipeg Committee for Ethiopian Jews. She was an active and independent woman who regularly attended the ballet, symphony and theatre. Eve enjoyed attending Seniors Lectures at the University of Winnipeg. A graveside service was held on March 31 at the Bnay Abraham Cemetery, Eves loving cousin Sydney Halter of Thunder Bay officiated along with Cantor Gerry Daien. Her life was eulogized by her great-nieces, Elan Swatek, Alissa Levine and Marly Tcherni. Pallbearers were her nephews, Richard Grevich, Howard Gurevich, Elliott Levine, Victor Rosenthal, David Swatek, Schachaf Tcherni and Daniel Gurevich. Many thanks to the caring and considerate staff at the Simkin Centre.
