MARY HNYTKA It is with love and sadness we mourn the peaceful passing of our Mother, Baba and Great-Baba Mary Hnytka on March 27, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her family, John (Millie), Bill (Wendy), Paul (Linda), Fred (Kathy), Irene (Joe), Helen (Alan), Elsie, Jeannie, Metro (Jennifer) 20 grand-children and 14 great-grandchildren. Mom also leaves to mourn her two sisters, Nettie and Katie and brother Nick. She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1986; her parents, Mike and Ksenia; sister Annie; brother Paul; sister-in-law Jean; brothers-in-law, Mike and Joe; nephew Peter; and grandson Todd. Mary was born in Kreuzberg (Fraserwood), MB in 1916 and grew up in the area. She later married Mike and together they raised nine children. She worked very hard on the family farm in Teulon and always enjoyed her garden and flower beds. After moving to Winnipeg in 1969, Mom spent many happy hours playing cards and bingo, was an avid carpet bowler at the Selkirk Ave. Age and Opportunity Centre and was a member of the Main St. Seniors Centre. She was also the recipient of the Senior Citizens Female Athlete of the Year award. Many thanks to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for all their loving care and kindness given to Mom over the past eight years. She felt all of you were a part of her large family. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 2 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno, MB with Rev.
