Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD EARL DAVIS December 7, 1930 - March 28, 2004 With peace, dignity and love, Bernie, aged 73, passed away at Grace General Hospital, Winnipeg, after a brave battle with cancer. Bernie was born and raised in Stewiacke, NS. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 21 years in the RCHA. He worked as a surveyor for the Manitoba Government until his retirement at age 60 and then drove School bus for a period. Bernie was an active member of the St. James Legion Branch for many years. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Earl (Edith), Stony Plain, AB, Vernon, Winnipeg; daughter Shirley (Allan) McCoshan, Calgary, AB; their mother, Bernies former wife Fran, of Calgary, and Frans sister, Barb Campbell, Pembroke, ON, who was raised by Bernie and Fran like a daughter; his wife Sandy, daughter Liza and son Patrick, all of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will also be sadly missed by brothers, Robert (Audrey), Stewiacke, NS, Walter (Bev), Chilliwack, BC, and sister Jane Ivany (Henry Delorey), Trenton, NS. Bernie was predeceased by his son James; parents, Bessie and Earl Davis; brother John; also brother Carl and sister Sally Ann, in infancy. Bernie enjoyed life, he loved going to his cottage, going on hunting and fishing trips and loved getting together with family and friends. Everyone who knew him enjoyed being in his company. He will be deeply missed. His daughter, Shirley, gives her heartfelt thanks to all nurses and staff at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during his stay. Thanks also to Col. Max Ryan for his prayers and spiritual guidance. A celebration of Bernies life will be held in Calgary, AB at a later date.
