LYNNE ROBINSON (nee BLACK) Lynne Robinson (nee Black) passed away Monday, March 29, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynne was born November 24, 1947 in Winnipeg to John and Eileen Black (deceased) and predeceased by her favourite aunt Vi Page, and her infant son Todd Andrew in 1975. Lynne is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Bruce; son Brett; and daughter Leigh; her brother John (Orion), of Brampton, ON; sister Leigh Hilton (Brian) of Scottsdale, AZ; and nieces, Laura Black, Erica Hilton, Lindsay Hilton Maher; nephew David Hilton; brothers-in-law Ross Robinson (Allana), Neil Robinson (Cathy) of Canmore, AB; nieces, Kaley Robinson, Sarah Robinson; nephews, Shea, Matthew, Keith and Owen Robinson; and father and mother-in-law Burton (B.A.) and Gerry Robinson. Lynne loved sharing the achievements of her children Brett and Leigh and was proud of their accomplishments. One of Lynnes greatest loves was music. She was a charter member of the Women of Note Choir. The highlights of her musical career included singing at Carnegie Hall, the Plaza of the United Nations, and the opening ceremonies of the Pan Am Games. Lynnes ideal summer evening would be sitting in the gazebo at Granite Lake sipping a glass of Chardonnay with family and friends while enjoying sounds of a thunderstorm. Lynne loved to travel. She visited France, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, and Australia. Lynne was an avid Blue Bomber fan and was the unofficial First Lady of the Blue Bombers during her husband Bruces term as President of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1992 & 1993. She attended 17 Grey Cups (mostly on her birthday). In support of her husband Bruce and the family business she attended 22 consecutive (ALA) American Lighting Association conventions across North America. She met and made many great friends for life in both her football and lighting industry associations. Lynne always enjoyed helping others. She volunteered at Osborne House, CNIB, and Grace Hospital. It is unfortunate Lynne was taken from us so young. She was a special person with a love for life. Lynne will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care of Manitoba c/o the Grace Hospital. Special thanks to the staff of Grace General Hospital and Dr. Patricia Harris for their wonderful care. Funeral has been arranged for Friday, April 2 at 3:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway (at Sherbrook Street).
