LEONARD BAUMGARTNER Surrounded by love, with dignity and peace, Leonard Baumgartner went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Claire; his son Charles (Gail) his daughter Domitala (Vernon) his stepchildren, Raymond, Monique, Gerald, Meril, Jocelyne and Patrick; 22 grandchildren; sisters, Carrie and Mary; brothers, Louis and William, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Elsie; son Leroy; his parents and one sister Jean. Leonard was born May 14, 1927 in Brokenhead, MB. He taught school for 14 years and was later employed by the Hudson Bay Company for 23 years. After retiring, Leonard devoted himself to the service of others. He was a volunteer with the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa) and with Meals on Wheels. Leonard was deeply committed to his Church. Also very dear to his heart was his involvement, in the early beginnings, with the Charismatic movement in the area. Prayers will be offered on Friday, April 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Rd. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Annes Rd. with viewing one half hour prior to mass. Reverend Fr. Rene Peeters will preside. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. He was always there with a helping hand.
