Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIGDES PETERSON (nee MAGNUSSON) 1904 - 2004 On March 11, 2004, Vigdes Peterson passed away peacefully in Sherwood Park, AB at the age of 99 years. Vee was born in the Vestfold District of Manitoba on September 2, 1904. She was raised in Winnipeg, where she attended Kelvin High School, then entered the teaching profession at Gimli and at South Arnes, where she met her future husband Peter. After their marriage in 1932, Vee left teaching to raise her family, returning in 1946 at North Arnes. In 1948, she transferred to Riverton, teaching there until her retirement as principal in 1970. She is survived by her three children, Kristin Joyce (John), Peter Donald and Richard Freeman (Margaret) five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Winnie and Joan. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1966 and three grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life and inurnment will be held at a later date in Gimli with notification. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vee may be made to a charity of ones choice.

She was one of my favourite teachers. She inspired me to do some positive things with my life. She gave every student the opportunity to do better and assisted all her students without favoritism for any. The world is a little better because of Mrs. Peterson!
