GEORGE ROBERTS GLENN aka BOB GLENN June 26, 1932 - March 31, 2004 After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father. Known affectionately as "Chopper Bob" and "The Silver Fox", he has departed on his final flight. Throughout his last days when asked how he was feeling his response was always, "Im fine". To the end his sense of humour and compassion for others during this difficult time filled our hearts with love, admiration, and gratitude for having such a wonderful person in our lives. He will be deeply missed. Held forever in the hearts of Agnes Glenn; daughter Debra Glenn; son-in-law Claudio Molina; daughter Laurel Glenn-Harmer; grandchildren, Heather, Christie, Justin, Dominique and Peter; also Mary Omar and her daughters, Marian and Ogai. He is also survived by his brothers, Roy and John and sister Goldie Loucks and their families. Bob is predeceased by his parents, Ward and Edith Glenn of Campbellford, ON and his brother Clarence. He was born at Trent River, ON at the family farm. Flight fascinated him, and as a young boy, he took a pair of goose wings and climbed to the roof of a farm shed. Flapping them wildly, he jumped off and discovered he would have to pursue another tactic to achieve his dream to fly. To that end, he joined the Royal Canadian Airforce, but alas was designated to accounting. While serving in Goose Bay, Labrador he became a member of the Freemasons Polaris Lodge #8618. A few years later, undeterred by his luck, he heard the flapping of rotor blades and realized his true passion was a helicopter pilot. He flew many missions during his long and distinguished career. His smoothness in flight earned him the everlasting respect of many students and his colleagues. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
