CLARA (MOAR) APPLETON The family of Clara (Moar) Appleton announce with sadness her death at Lambton Meadowview Villa on March 30, 2004. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward in October 1978. She will be dearly missed by her three daughters, Grace, Cheryl and Edell; and sons-in-law, Mort White, Charlie Young and John Newland; and foster children, Louise and Joey Hearn; grandchildren, Carla, Lora, Jennifer, Peter, Patricia and Richard; and two great-grandsons, Joseph and Joshua; a sister Margaret; brother Lloyd; and many kind and loving nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by sister Gladys; and brothers, Gordon, Joseph, Emerson and Howard. Clara was born in 1911 in Selkirk, MB, the daughter of Alexander and Lillian (Kinsmen) Moar. Her early, married years were spent in Hudson and Sioux Lookout, ON, before returning to her beloved Manitoba. While raising her girls she was very active in her community, lodge and church. She loved curling and the fun and laughter of bonspiels. For seventy years she was committed to the Rebekah Organization, actively supporting their charitable projects. She was a Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of Manitoba, a member of Queen Esther #2 Lodge, and Mayflower Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of Harrow United Church, the UCW and Kilola Club of Winnipeg. A memorial service for Clara Appleton will be held in Winnipeg in May with interment at Cloverdale.
