Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOn Wednesday, March 31, 2004, the world lost a gracious lady. MARY ROSALIND OLESCHUK (nee WISNIEWSKI) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 91 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Mary is survived by her daughter Eleanor Cooper (Stan) grandson Daryl Cooper (Louise) granddaughters, Gail Gorrie (Bill) and Christine Cooper; great-grandchildren, Tikena and Robyn. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her brothers, Joseph West (Cecile) of Winnipeg, George West (Juelle) of Selkirk; and sister Florence Tiboni of Thunder Bay; sisters-in-law, Pat West of Winnipeg and Elizabeth West of California. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband Edward Oleschuk; her parents, Rosalie and Valentine Wisniewski; her sisters, Kathleen Wachal and Agnes Klobe; her brothers, Frank West, Andrew West, John Wisniewski; brothers-in-law, Frank Wachal, Alex Klobe and Louis Tiboni. Mary was a dedicated lifetime employee of MacDonalds Consolidated/Canada Safeway and was Cheese Inspector for the Lucerne Cheese division. She loved her work and made numerous friends during her many years of service. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Church, choir, and Rosary service. Mary lived her life for those she loved. She was generous and giving. She cared for her mother and brother John for many years. Mary also loved Bingo, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She sent knitted socks and scarves to her brother Andrew stationed in England during the Second World War. Her crafts are evident in all our homes. Without a doubt she made The Best Perogies in the World. Her wonderful disposition, smiles and laughter will be greatly missed. Many thanks to the Betel Home staff in Selkirk and the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 5819 Henderson Hwy with Rev. Fr. Jerry Talarski, OMI officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daryl Cooper, Bill Gorrie, Joseph West, George West, David West and Lorne Oleschuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marys memory to the Corpus Christi Building Fund. Marys memory is our keepsake, From which we will never part.
