Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL ETHEL HILL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Hazel on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age 76 years. Hazel is survived by her sister Charlotte of Lethbridge, AB; brother Jack of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her mother Hazel Hill; father Edwin J. Hill; sister Kay Doerksen and brother Tom Hill. Hazel was born on June 10, 1927 in Stony Mountain, where she resided until entering nursing. She chose Psychiatric Nursing as her profession and graduated from Brandon Mental Heath Centre (BMHC) School of Nursing in 1950. She worked at the BMHC for several years, later moving to Winnipeg where she worked at the Health Sciences Centre and Seven Oaks Hospital, retiring in 1992. Hazel was an extraordinary Psychiatric Nurse who was well respected by all who had the privilege of working with her. Hazel was a selfless person who devoted herself to family and friends. She was always there to lend a helping hand or give a kind word of encouragement. She touched many people with her kindness and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for the kindness, compassion and respect they showed Hazel during her lengthy stay. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel with Pastor Erica Block officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Hazels memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
