MARY KOWALSKI (nee GRODECKI) It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Kowalski, on Friday, April 2, 2004 at the age of 84 years. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. Mary leaves to mourn her passing, sons, Emil (Donna) and Clem (the late Mary Link) both of Winnipeg; daughters, Elizabeth Finegan (Don) of Salinas, CA and Agnes Olson (Randy) of Teulon; grandchildren, David and Nicole Perras (Rob Dyck), Mark (Kelley), Larry (Pam) and Valerie Kowalski, Christina Finegan, Steven and Teresa Olson; great-grandchildren, James, Alex and Trevor Kowalski; sisters, Frances Sudol of Surrey, Emily Stone of Victoria, Annette Benjamin (Prosper) of Calgary, Angela Leblanc (Gerald) of Vernon and Rose Yaskowick of Kamloops; brother Joe (Adeline) of Brandon; sister-in-law Stephanie Grodecki of Winnipeg; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father John and mother Angela; daughter Lucille Perras; sisters, Bernice Johannson and Josephine Pawlowski; and brothers, Anton and John. Mary was born on August 5, 1919 near Wynyard, SK. She later moved to British Columbia and settled in Winnipeg in 1951. Mary worked at Cara Corp. for many years, retiring in 1984. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Paul The Apostle, 2400 Portage Ave. with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. For those who wish, viewing will take place one hour prior to Mass. Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Grace Hospital for their care, as well as the home care workers who came to Moms home before she entered the hospital. If friends desire, donations in Marys memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. "I love you more."
