JOHN UHL It is with deep sadness and sorrow that the family of John Uhl announces his peaceful passing on April 1, 2004 at the age of 69 at the Beausejour Hospital with his family by his side. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Marian (nee Fuerst) of 47 years, daughters, Kimberly (Harvey) Steinke and Linda (Mel ) Gmiterek, grandchildren, Melissa, Brenda (Brent), Kristen and Ashley; brother Bob (Doris) mother-in-law Nellie Fuerst; brother-in-law Al Kuly; sisters-in-law, Joan (Eric) Purse, Donna (Joe) Lotecki, Kathy Fuerst and Laveine Uhl also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Debra, parents Tillie and John Uhl Sr., father-in-law August Fuerst and sister Norma Kuly. John was born in Strasbourg, SK. He moved to Beausejour in 1951 where he met and married Marian in 1956. Dad was a hard worker who retired from CP Rail in 1997. He was a sports enthusiast; he played baseball and loved curling in his younger years and in later years he was an avid sports fan. John was a kind, gentle man that touched the lives of those who knew him. He loved spending time with his family and genuinely enjoyed the uniqueness of each grandchild. his example of courage and strength as he relied on his faith in the Lord will live on through his family. A funeral service will be held on April 5 at Zion Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Hugh Laidlaw officiating. We would like to thank Dr. Campbell and the staff at the Beausejour Hospital for all their care and compassion through out the years.
