GLORIA JEAN FITZSIMMONS (nee KJARTANSON) Born in Amaranth, MB, January 5, 1941. Passed away April 3, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by father and mother, Jule and Grace Kjartanson and brother Garnet Kjartanson. Left to mourn are husband Ron; son Marty, his wife Carol and their children, Tara, Amber, Serena; son Brad, his sons Jeff, Shane and Mike; daughter Deb (Pete) brother Lyle, his wife Alice. Gloria was born in Smalley District, north of Amaranth, daughter of Jule and Grace Kjartanson who farmed there and were agents for the Freshwater Fish Marketing Board. She had her schooling in Amaranth. In 1957 she furthered her education in Winnipeg where she trained as a Lab Technician at the Grace Hospital. In 1959 she was wed to Ron Fitzsimmons. Gloria was first employed at the Assiniboine Hospital in Brandon and later she went to the Western Clinic. She ended her medical career at the Brandon Western Clinic. In 1966 Gloria and Ron moved to Edrans with their family, Marty, Brad and Debbie. Gloria was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and worker. She lived for her grandchildren who she loved to feed as soon as they came. She liked her camping and the outdoors. She loved her flowers in the spring and they will continue to be planted as she did every year. She will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral service will be held in Edrans Church, Edrans on Wednesday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Al Wiebe officiating. Interment in Edrans Cemetery, Edrans, MB. Friends who so desire may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Manitoba Lung Association. "I Love You Honey We Love You Mom" Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa, in care of arrangements.
