DOROTHY AGNES McCONKEY (nee FRAMPTON) Peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2004, with her daughters at her side, Mom passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 84 years. Dorothy was born on December 4, 1919 in Winnipeg, MB, and was predeceased by her husband Tommy; son Edwin; her mother and father; three sisters and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Evelyn Gariepy (Fern), Lillian Jarvis (George), Betty Goddard, Ruth Gilchrist (Hans), Wendy Courchaine (Roger) daughter-in-law Jean McConkey; sixteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a very devoted mother and grandmother and she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in all their many activities. Mom was vibrant and lively and enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved to be around people, and in her own way, she touched every one she met. Mom was a member of the Rockwood Army and Navy for a number of years and took part in several activities there. Mom, not only did you teach us about life and love, but you have left us with strength and courage. A memorial service celebrating Dorothys life will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, located at 680 Archibald St. "We love you Mom and Nanny, You are in our hearts forever." The family extends a special thanks to all palliative care staff, who showed mom such wonderful kindness.
