Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALDINE MARION BANACK On Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Geraldine (Gerry), beloved mother, grandmother and daughter passed away at the age of 73 years. Geraldine is survived by her son Richard Banack and his partner Cecile Foster of Winnipeg; grandson Jason Banack and his partner Jennifer Olfert also of Winnipeg; her mother Mary Halliday who resides at Fred Douglas Lodge Personal Care Home, Winnipeg; her uncle Harold Balla; her aunt Beverly Balla; also her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Banack in 1998. Geraldine was born on August 18, 1930 to Mary and Harry Halliday of Winnipeg. She was born, raised and always lived in the North End. Her first job was with Revenue Canada in the Taxation Division and she worked there until her son was born. Gerry married Edward Banack on June 26, 1954 and they were together until Edwards death. They had one son, Richard and the family resided in a quiet residential area in Garden City. Gerry raised her son and worked in various places part-time. The family enjoyed travelling together out west. Gerry also helped to raise their one grandson, Jason who was born in 1980. Through the years, she was an active participant in her sons business ventures, often calling customers, fielding enquiries and taking care of several kinds of animals. This included various fish and for the past 15 plus years, a blue and gold macaw named Charlie who was Gerrys constant companion until the end. Gerry helped Richard in his business, Environmental Aquatic Services at his shop on McDermot Avenue. She also worked at Seel Carpet Cleaners in sales and office administration. She made many close friends at Seels who will miss her. The family would like to thank the staff in the Intensive Care Unit of Seven Oaks Hospital. Prayers will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Chapel with Rev. Deacon Nick Kohuch officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, Jason Banack, Greg Balla, Harold Balla, Ron Solylo, Sam Smilski and Marion Bort. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Gerrys memory to the Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2X 0B8. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
